Q1. How does Bike Guard Device work?
Bike Guard is based on digital 2.4GHz RF (radio frequency) technology. Both Base unit and Tag units have been paired to each other in factory.
The Bike Guard uses the RF signal strengthens to identify each other and provide direction reference. The Bike Guard can provide loss prevention and direction finding service for you. A sensor is built-in to detect the vibration, while someone is trying to move your bike, the Bike Guard will alert you in 2 seconds. The Base and Tag unit will alarm for 10 seconds and repeat alarm until vibration is stop. The Bike Guard can use LED level (visual) and sound level to guide to the right direction of the run-away units.

Q2. How does the search function work?
When a tagged item is misplaced, you can use the Base unit to search for it, if it is within a 984 ft / 300 m (line of sight) radius. Try this first in an open area (e.g. large room,or in your yard).
1. Take the Base Unit and stand apart from the Tag unit (about 15-20 ft). On the Base unit, press the Search/Set” Button once. The Base unit will begin to chirp and the Tag unit will begin to beep.
2. Before searching, you must first calibrate the Base to the current terrain and environment. Hold the Base unit in front of you at chest level, and scan the area slowly in a circular direction, from right to left
for 360° (a) and again from left to right (b), one 360° turn in 3-4 seconds.
Note: You don’t have to scan a full 360°; you can use a narrower search angle (e.g. 180°).
Note: If the “Direction Indicator” illuminates green on the Base unit during this calibration process, it does not yet indicate the Tag unit’s direction.
3. Next, begin the search by slowly scanning a third time from right to left (c). The “Direction Indicator” on the Base Unit will illuminate (green) when it establishes the direction of the tagged item location.
4. Move in the direction of the Tag Unit. As you approach the Tag unit, the frequency of the chirping and blinking (LED) on the Base Unit will increase.
5. If the Tag unit is hidden (e.g. in a pocket), you can MUTE the Base unit by holding down the button on the Base unit, allowing you to follow the Tag beep audible to pin-point Tag unit’s location.

Q3. In search mode, why does the Base unit show the Tag location to be in several directions?
The Base unit collects and compares RF signal strength from the Tag unit to determine location. However, when the Tag unit is already very close to the Base unit, the signals can appear emanating from several directions. This can also occur when both units are in an enclosed environment, which causes signal reflection off of walls from different directions, indicating a false location. If this is the case, you can mute the Base unit, and simply follow the audio beep issued by the Tag unit during search mode.

Q4. Why does the Base unit occasionally indicate a false direction?
This is also caused by the reflection or blockage of the signal. Signal reflection from walls or wire fences sometimes may indicate a false location. A body of water (e.g. fish tank) for even people may block the signal and weaker reflected signals from surrounding metal objects may indicate a false direction. To remedy this problem, try adjusting your position, wait for the “Status Indicators” to settle and try your search again.

Q5. What can cause the false alarm?
False alarms are caused by:
- Base and Tag units are too close to each other within 10 cm (the signal connection will be overloaded).
- Low battery power will cause unpredictable behavior such as false alarms.

Q8. How many items can I protect with my Pet Tracker personal security device?
Bike Guard only works with one tag.

Q10. If I don’t need the Alert function temporarily, what should I do?
Under standby mode, turn OFF the Base unit within 1 meter from your bicycle, the Tag unit will sound "Di-du" to approve disarm. When you hear "Di-du", you have disarmed the Bike Guard.

Q11. Is Bike Guard certificated by international standard?
Yes. CE and FCC certification have approved Bike Guard.

Q12. What range does Bike Guard Pet Tracker have?
The maximum search range is 1600 feet or 500 meters. Bike Guard is designed to react to the environment that it is in, based on the perceived risk. For example, if you are in a room full of many people or obstructions and cannot directly see your tagged item, then Bike Guard security zone will be tighter than if there were no people or obstructions in the same room. The ranges are therefore only guidelines and can also vary between handsets.

Q13.How loud is the Bike Guard audio alarm?
The base unit is 95db, Tag unit is 110sb. (When the battery runs low, the loudness is reduced.)

Q14.What if other people use the Bike Guard around me?
Each pair of Base and Tag has a unique code and at the same place the same time it allows 65,535 codes. Other Base units will not track your Tag unit.

Q15. What type of batteries is used?
Base unit uses LR44x2, Tag unit uses CR2032 x 1.

Q16. How long will the batteries last?
Under Standby mode, when the device is turned on for 8 hours per day, the Base and Tag unit’s battery lifetime is 30 days.

Q17.What’s the situation that I turn on the Base and Tag unit and both of them alarm?
When the Base and Tag units are turned ON, it takes 8 to 15 seconds for the synchronization.

Q18.Will Base unit find the Tag unit through obstacles like walls or trees?
Yes, nevertheless the maximum valid distance will be reduced.

Q19.Can I use the Bike Guard in other countries?
Yes. Personal security device works on 2.4GHz ISM frequency band, which is available all over the world.

Q20. Is Tag unit water resistance?
Sorry, it doesn’t support water resistance, it supports water splash resistance.

Q21.How do I know when to replace batteries?
There is a low battery alarm on the Base unit and Tag unit, a single beep sound every 2 minutes.

Q22.Doesn’t work (search or alert function)?
Step 1: Check the battery
a. Power ON both the Base and Tag units, the LED should flash both Base and Tag unit. If not, please change the battery and test again.
b. If there is no LED flash after replaces the battery, please call for the maintenance.

Step 2: Checking if the connecting of base and tag unit
Both units will establish a link and blink synchronously, if not, please follow the Step 3 (paring process) or see the video of paring process to re-pair.

Step 3: Pairing Process
The device is registered before being shipped. The following procedure is for your information.
a. To avoid the registration failure, please make sure the Tag units and Tracker unit are powered off.
b. Press the search button at the same time, and turn on the power on the Tracker unit.
c. Wait for the red light to flash then release the button to enter pairing mode. If you have successfully entered the registration mode, the Tracker unit will flashing with Green LED and same frequency and enter paring mode.
d. When you are registering, please place the Tag unit close to the Tracker unit and turn the Tag unit on. (Within 10cm distance for the two units.)
e. If registration is successful, the Tracker unit will beep once you turn on the Tag unit.

Step 4: Please contact the agent or dealer for maintenance if the problem is still persisted.
