Q1. How does Pet Tracker 227PA Device work?

Pet Tracker is based on digital 2.4GHz RF (radio frequency) technology. Both Remote and Tag units have been paired to each other in factory. The Pet Tracker uses the RF signal strengthens to identify each other and provide direction reference. The Pet Tracker is perfect tool for searching and finding your beloved pets, wherever they hide or wonder off the sight. It can provide loss prevention and direction finding service for you. In an undesired case, Pets wondering off or hiding from your sight, you can turn on the Remote to search and find them. The Pet Tracker can use LED level (visual) and sound level to guide you to the right direction and reach them within the short time without scaring them.

Q2. How does the search function work?

1. On the Remote Unit, press the “Search” Button once for Tag unit #1 – one or more of the 5 “Signal Strength” LED lights will illuminate on the Remote Unit, indicating the relative distance from Base to Tag. The Remote Unit will also begin to rhythm at regular intervals. The Tag unit will not have any alert sound at beginning of search. When you going in the right direction, the Remote will increase in rhythm and more “Signal Strength” LED lids.

2. First, You must survey the current site and collect RF signal data for analysis. Hold the Remote Unit in front of you, at chest level and scan the area slowly in a circular direction, from the right to the left for 360° and again from the left to the right (one 360° turn in 3-4 seconds).Note: If the “Direction Indicator” illuminates green on the Remote Unit during the survey, it does not yet indicate a Tag unit’s direction yet. It only collects RF signal data at this time for further analysis.

SuveryArea

3. Slowly scan a third time from the right to the left. The “Direction Indicator” on the Remote Unit will illuminate (green) when it establishes the direction of the tag’s location.

Note: You don’t have to scan a full 360°; you can use a narrower search angle (i.e. 180°), but you should continue to scan with the Remote Unit from left to right, right to left and then follow the leading green LED direction.

4.   4. Move in the direction in-line with where the front of the Remote Unit points when the Green light is lit. As you move closer and closer to the Tag unit (with Pet), the Remote Unit rhythm intervals will increase in frequency and the “Signal Strength” lights will display additional red lights. If the Remote Unit chirp intervals slow and the red “Signal Strength” lights become fewer, you may be moving in the wrong direction and losing signal strength – at this point you may need to stop and go through previous survey step again.

5.   5. As you become very close to the Tag unit (with Pet), the “Signal Strength” lights will all be illuminated – however, if you are right on top of or very close to the Tag unit, the “Direction Indicator” may give inaccurate readings (i.e. signal saturation condition). At this point you should mute the Remote Unit (Mute button on the side of the Remote Unit) and Press / Hold the activate Tag #1 (as shown on below) to enable chip from the active Tag and allow to track by sound.

PressHoldSearch

6. Once the Tag unit is found, press the “Search/Set” button on the Remote Unit again to cease the search function.
Silent search option: In quiet areas (i.e. libraries), it is possible to conduct a silent search, where both the Remote and the Tag units are muted. To do this simply, turn on the “Mute” button on the Remote Unit before pressing the “Search” button and then use the Direction Indicator and Signal Strength lights.

Q3. In search mode, why does the Remote Unit show the Tag location to be in several directions?

The Remote Unit collects and compares RF signal strength from the Tag unit to determine location. However, when the Tag unit is already very close to the Remote Unit, the saturated signals can appear emitting from several directions. This can also occur when both units are in an enclosed environment, which causes signal reflection off of walls from different directions, false indicator will occur. If this is the case, you can mute the Remote Unit, and simply follow the audio beep issued by the Tag unit during search mode.

Q5. What is the best practice to use search function?

This is also caused by the reflection or blockage of the signal. Signal reflection from walls or wire fences sometimes may indicate a false location. A body of water (i.e. fish tank) for even people may block the signal and weaker reflected signals from surrounding metal objects may indicate a false direction. To remedy this problem, try adjusting your position, wait for the “Status Indicators” to be settled and try to search again.

Q6. What can cause out-of-range false alarm?

False alarms are caused by:
- Base and Tag units are too close to each other within 10 cm (signal saturation condition).
- Low battery power will cause unpredictable behavior such as false alarms.
- Either the Base or Tag unit has been placed in a pocket or RF signal block material or with 2.4GHz devices, which will block the signal.

Because radio signal strength and signal reflection are affected by the environment and terrain, users may need to adjust the out-of-range distances to compensate for environment factors.

Q7. How many pets or item can I protect with my Pet Tracker device?
Pet Tracker 227PA has two standard packages type, 227PA2: with 2 tags and 227PA4: with 4 tags.
Pet-Tracker can support up to 4 tags, additional tag can be purchased.

- Check whether the Tag unit is “Disalarmed” on the Base unit - Check for low battery on both units - Check the out-of-range distance - if the Tag unit is set for “Far”, you may need a greater distance before setting off an Alert.

Q8. What will happen if Remote Unit and Tag unit are out of the valid range for a long time?
When both units are out of the valid range, the signal will be disconnected. In this case, you can only hope the Tag unit is within the tracking range (1600 feet / 500 meter). You have to use the Remote unit and searching procedures to locate your pet.
Step 1: Each ‘Scan Session’ only lasts one minute. If Remote cannot find each tag within the time period, the Remote will go to sleep mode. Please press the search button no. (1,2,3 or 4) once to enter the search mode again, as you walk and search the area for a signal.

Step 2: When Remote is connected with tag, it can last 3 minutes. If you are walking in the wrong direction, please try other direction again. When the tag is within the range, the remote unit will show a green LED and start a tracking tone within 30 seconds (Tag is in sleep mode, Remote will wake up tag and synchronize). Follow green Indicator direction then listen to beeping frequency. The Red LED Indicators show that you are walking in the right direction. DO NOT turn in circles on the same spot, keep walking in different directions and follow the Green LED. When you hear beeping and the sound effect speeds up, you are near the tag now.

Q9. If I don’t need the Alert function temporarily, what should I do?

If there are one or more Tags that are not in use, you can deactivate or “Dis-alarm” them so that the Base will not issue any alerts for them. In the instructions above for setting out-of-range distances, there is a fourth option marked “Dis-alarm” on the Base Unit. You can set a Tag to this option if want the Base unit to disregard that Tag unit.

LEDsetting

Turn off Master unit while Slave unit is On and it will enter sleep mode. After 10 seconds the Slave unit starts 8 long beeps for 15 seconds and then it enters sleep mode too.

If the slave that you don’t need to use it. It will be closed automatically within 20 seconds.

There are two buttons for two slaves. Just press the button (right or left) that the Slave unit you want to find and follow the LED distance indication on the Master unit.

Turn off the Master power OFF within 2 meters from Slave unit. The alarm of Slave unit will be disabled then.

The signal is disconnected because of human body interference. We suggest that you adjust the position you place the Master unit.

The closer the Master unit approaches Slave unit, the more LEDs on the Master unit light. Point to different directions, stay a while (2-3 seconds) in all directions and compare in which direction the more LEDs light, that will be the direction the Slave unit locates. When you are close to the Slave unit, press the mute button (the left key) of Master unit to listen to the beep from Slave unit.

Q10. Does Pet Tracker have CE and FCC certification?
